Roadmap
Different modules of SAP IBP covers different areas of Supply Chain Planning. It combines supply chain monitoring, sales and operations planning, demand management, inventory planning, and supply planning into a comprehensive solution. In a complex customer landscape, it is always a challenge to come up with the optimal forward-looking roadmap to roll out the planning solution that will provide most benefit to the business as well as will create least disruption to others.

Architecture
There are multiple solutions to the same problem and it is critical to come up with an optimal and cost-effective architecture that provides solutions to the most critical business challenges and at the same time is also sustainable from the technical standpoint. Different components of the architecture should complement each other to create a technical landscape that is user-friendly, business-focused and does not create any siloed solution.

Design
The success of any Supply Chain Planning initiative depends on the design of the solution. If the solution is not designed to meet the critical business requirements, if it is not user friendly to use, and most importantly, if it is not aligned with the overall goal of the organization, then it becomes hard to enhance the adoption of the solution. The design has to be robust, flexible and simple at the same time. In the ideal world, there should not be any workaround in the final solution, however, in the real world, the workarounds cannot be always avoided. The design of the solution should be flexible enough to incorporate those temporary workarounds and when time comes, it should be able to remove those and adopt to the standard functionality.
